Just Peachy


Nothing beats the heat than fresh, juicy summer peaches. And those of us here in Southern California have sure been feeling the heat for well past week. But…never fear! Peaches are here! High in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, peaches also contain antioxidants help to protect the body from disease. The best part of it all – just pure yumminess! Taking a bite into a juicy, fresh peach is like eating candy! A favorite way to eat peaches in our home is to cut the peaches into slices or pieces, topping it off with a nice scoop of French Vanilla ice cream. Talk about refreshing! Just perfect for the hot days we have been having. And...there is always fresh peach pie. We often make a bunch of fresh peach pie and freeze it for those times when we just need to have our peach fix. We love it (warm or cold) with fresh whipped cream or French Vanilla ice cream. We are so lucky in California as our peach season lasts up to mid-September due to our milder climate. So why not visit your local farmer’s market or grocery store to get some fresh peaches? Better yet, try out your green thumb! Peach trees grow well here in the Inland Empire and there is nothing more convenient and fun than having your very own to harvest. Don't forget the ice cream!
